The author examines research which suggests that ineffective training can actually lead men to be less likely to recognize situations that are harassing. The training can also lead to a ‘backlash’ where men become defensive or are less likely to accept accusations as true. Many companies appear to offer training that is only concerned with avoiding liability rather than providing truly effective workshops.
